SCOTIA BANK IS THE WORST
first bank was going to make me wait a year before they gave me a visa logo'd debit card
For those who follow the news... Here is the latest and confirmed information about Scotia Bank and its operations...
If I had a Scotia account in STJ, I'd be switching to another bank.
Who wants to take the ferry back and forth, to do business.
I know there is no "quick run to the bank" in the islands but having to take a ferry to do so is rediculous.
"Scotiabank is very committed to the territory," Not reassuring at all...
With the kind of service described on this board it is not surprising they are closing branches and cutting much needed jobs.
There are many banks now that don't have any physical branches at all and this would seem to be the way of the future for banking. I see no need for bank branches anymore as long as I'm able to transact my business electronically or at banking machines.
Wow. There went the only reason I would ever have to keep my Scotia accounts (Havensight closing). I have yet to hear anything bad about BP - anyone have some dirt or kudos? That and Merchants, which seems to exist only in 'the cloud' or 'the matrix' are the only two I haven't tried.
What I liked about that article is that they had to cut personnel costs - I have to laugh becuase on a typical visit there Scotia has 15 employees in the branch, but only 2 of whom are actually attempting to help customers. The other 13 are busy gabbing with each other or practicing their dirty looks for when their hour shift is upon them later that day.
I bank at Banco Pop...they're not too bad and I have had very few negative experiences.
