Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know what tuition at Antilles or Montessori runs for a year, and how hard is it to get in to either of these schools. My children will be going into 4th & 2nd grades when we're ready for our move. Also, does anyone have any first hand experience with either of these schools?

Thank you for your help!

My daughter goes to Montessori. Tuition is $7900/year (may be a little less for the 2nd grader) Mine is going into the fifth grade. The 4-6 grade teacher is great. I like the school. Tuition at Antilles is higher. I hear (don't quote me on this) it is around $12,000/year. Feel free to ask me any questions.

We just visited Antilles late May tuition is 12,678 for the year. They do have financial aid, which i am counting on so I don't have to mortgage my house. Didn't get to see Montessori on our trip. We will be there for one year at least for a job, then with the option of staying. I didn't want my son who will be in 5th grade to get behind if we do return to states. We also checked out All Saint's and St Peter and Paul both run about 4000 plus some fees like books etc.

I like Montessori a lot. My daughter loves it and loves her teacher. Great families and great community.

What about Sibily School? It's public, but used to a favorite for children of ex pats. I went there. I returned to the states and attended a Blue Ribbon private school - no problems transitioning and keeping up.

My 2 cents. 🙂 My kids (Kindergarten and 1st grade this past year) went to Peace Corps School (public also) and had a great year. They adjusted well. My 1st grader went to a blue ribbon public school for Kindergarten in the states last year and adjusted well to our island school. I was pleasantly suprised at the level of education the kids got at public school on STT. I only recommend what I know and the elementary schools seem to be very good. Although, I do understand wanting private schools for religious and other concerns. Good luck with everything!

Thanks to all for the advice. Though my wife is a STT native she has concerns with regards to the public schools. Her main concern is the kids, being statesiders, fitting in with the locals. Teresa, did your kids acclimate well?

Thanks so much.

P.S. in regard to the book club meeting at the Toad & Tart all I can say is I'm Jealous I can't be there. The Toad & Tart is one of my favorite Pubs on the Island. I've always had A good time there, and the Tart is an excellent cook!.
