safe to leave car?
My wife and I are considering retirement to St. Criox, and I want to know what is the best thing to do with a car when we return to the mainland for a few months during the summer. Is it safe to just lock it up, or are there storeage garages for just such a situation?
Hello Andy,
If you will have a home here then you might pay someone to stop by the house to check up things and car sit for you or if you make friends with people and trust them you could let them stay in your place for the time you are gone and maintain things for you. You can also just put a lock on the steering wheel, put a cover over the car and leave it at your house but the risk of course is that people might notice you are gone and break in. There are storage facilities on St. Croix so you could lock up the car and other items from your house to be the most secure and to give the best ease of mind this might be the way to go.

You might also look into places that offer secure outside boat storage.
