Sadly leaving STT- better to ship or sell?

After five (mostly) wonderful years on Saint Thomas, sadly we have to move back to the states and it is breaking my heart. My husband’s health is deteriorating and he needs specialized care so back we must go..

We have a house full of furniture that we’ve accumulated in our years here. Some pieces  we will definitely ship back. Does anyone have any experience with the cost of moving furniture back to the states? Is it actually cheaper to just let it go here and buy again once we get back? This is not cheap furniture but it’s not the most expensive either.

Anyone who has moved back to the states who may still be on this forum, who did you use?

TIA!

Donna: I understand. We used Viking to move our stuff back. They had also handled moving the stuff down 20 years earlier. Professional and thorough.

You should sell in STT unless you have French antiques.

We, sadly sold our house and left STX one year ago. My wife won the health care battle so we now find ourselves in Florida. We sold a lot of stuff there before we left, left some in the house and shipped the rest here in a 20' container. Not cheap but stuff we couldn't live without.

Thanks everyone,

I guess I will get a quote from Viking and then decide. If the whole house ends up being $20,000 then Reuse Emporium will be getting a call. Ha.
