Who did you hear that from, Jamison? Do you know who is building it? I'll believe it when I see it, ha ha! Been hearing that one for a long time now....
In American Yacht Harbor: New restaurant going into Coco Blue's space. They were putting the name on the door yesterday, but I can't remember what it was. OOPS!
There are lots of restaurants for sale in STT.
I'll give a list when I have more time.
Ee, I pass that way every morning, so I'll check tomorrow. My friend who works at AYH should know so I'll see if he/she knows the scoop.

Many places close in Sept. to take a break, clean for upcoming season, etc. since normally height of hurricane season and very slow month for businesses. However, Thirteen is listed for sale as is Northside Bistro, Starz, Mojo's, Shipwreck Tavern, Randy's, the old Romano's building, Molly Malone's/Amigo's, Enkai plus a few more.
The VI McDonalds restaurants are owned by a Puerto Rico company called Arcos Dorados, the largest McDonalds franchise owner in the world with over 1200 stores in the Caribbean, Latin and S America. The Golden Rock Subway is owned by Colin Hodge and the Frederiksted Subway by Daniel Lacoste.
Good luck to whomever is opening a Taco Bell in Frederiksted. It will be a tough slug with the small population in the area and an easy target for robberies. I wouldn't drive out there to eat that crap.

most places out here have been having a pretty busy offseason. There are a lot more people out here than you think. There also isnt much crime out west. Csted has way more problems than Fsted these days.
I don't blame you for not wanting to eat at a place who got in trouble for not using real beef though. The shocking part of that old story to me, was that beef only has to be 35% beef to be considered beef. And we wonder whats making Americans so sick.
Also for sale in STT is Parrots Bar & Deli in Creque's Alley, the restaurant in Drakes Passage and the one that is located next door to Rancho Latino in Vitraco Mall.
Yep I actually spoke to the guy trying to bring Taco Bell and Pollo Tropical here...and yes it's gonna be in West according to him
Most of the restaurants listed on STT have been for sale for a long time - a few for YEARS! Until something is actually sold there's not much point (and it's not helpful to the business owners either) to spread it around. Plus pretty much anything is for sale for the right price whether advertised or not.
I don't recall that I was ever told that my restaurant was for sale (it never was) but I sure did hear many times over over the years that I was closing which always came as a complete surprise!
Actually, quite a few in STT have just recently listed, OT.

Many times this kind of upswing in listings is precipitated by an aggresive real estate agent or agency that is trying to fatten up their listings or hoping to get a split commission if another agent sells the listing once the exclusive goes onto MLS - they approach the restaurateur claiming they have many clients looking to buy a business and often suggest such inflated values that an owner is deluded into thinking they can get some outrageous price for 'goodwill' - when what is commonly for sale is well used equipment and furnishings and the right to pay a lease that anyone could renegotiate to better terms if the restaurant closed. I doubt you can find a legitimate P&L from many USVI businesses that deal in any appreciable amount of cash transactions.
Sorry EE, I don't believe that is always the case. Yes, everyone wants to make money off of a sale but the owners are responsible for the listing price. Their ultimate decision. One can factually give an owner what might fly with a current market but they often will go elsewhere if a Realtor does not want to list for their asking price.
I agree some are unrealistic values and often surprised that some realtors will agree to list for that amount but then again, everything can be negotiable. No good Realtor wants to have inventory sitting there and devaluing as time progresses and an owner getting pissed off that no sale has insued in a timely manners.

Going back to an earlier thought, as I was heading to my accountant's office, across from Dashi on Queen Cross street, STX, I vaguely remember seeing, I think, Hotheads setting up in a new location, so, that rumor just may be true. I only glanced up for a second as walking by. Guess we will see.
hot heads is great. hope it is a bigger store
Be careful.
Speaking from recent experience, most of the time down here a rumor is just a premature fact. 😎
Its hard to imagine that Brew Pub would close. They must make gobs of money, especially from the underage drinkers on the weekend.

I WILL!
can't wait!

why take that jab? Do you realize how hard they are on bars and bartenders checking id here? I know people have gotten 1,000 dollar fines from their stings. Nobody is overlooking underagers here.
It may have changed some in recent times but I once went to a popular Sunday Night Beach venue and asked the bartender "Is there a drinking age in the VI?" He didn't know - and when I questioned if he was likely to sell my 16 y.o.daughter a rum and coke he said " Well it is Ladies Night so it would be free"
I've had my 14 yo daughter offered drinks before without being carded. She looks old for her age, but not 18. However this was not at the Brew Pub, ha ha! Won't say where.
Jamison, I blame you for my dream last night! I dreamt I was lost behind the Flea Market in Csted driving around and drove right past a brand new Taco Bell. My first instinct was to come to the board and tell everyone there was a Taco Bell in Csted! And then I woke up...wah! *laughs*
