Ruins Ramble
The St. Croix Landmarks Society will hold a Ruins Ramble at Estate Prosperity this Sunday (November 21) at 3:30. This is the Estate Prosperity just to the east of the Carambola beach resort on the North Shore Road, not the one just north of Frederiksted on the Mahogany Road. The Society doesn’t seem to have anything posted about this on its website, but I saw a flyer outside of the Schooner Bay Market yesterday. Here is the website if you wish to call and confirm and get more details:

Fog,
I did this Sunday with my daughters and enjoyed it, although I don't think they were too impressed. Thanks for the heads-up. Were you there? The guide (George) was excellent. Kudos to the Landmarks Society.
Yes, I was there. That's a rare greathouse ruin, being of rock. Most were made with coral block and limestone marl.
By the way, welcome! I see you're new to St. Croix. On the Landmarks hike, I'm sure you noticed the rocky, towering sea cliffs of the northwest forest. If you like hiking, you can get in there from a trail that starts behind the Carambola resort. Take lots of water. You can swim in the tide pools at the beaches. It's probably the most beautiful part of St. Croix, and hardly anyone sees it. Kind of sad.
