Rooms for rent in St. Croix?
Hi everyone,
My dream is indeed a reality now since I got my job confirmation on Monday. Now all I have to do is get myself (and my stuff) to the islands and find a temporary place to live, a place where I wouldn't mind living for as long as 9-10 months.
Does anyone know about housing availability (room for rent, efficiency apt., etc.) near UVI-St. Croix?
Should I bring a stockpile of any supplies with me?
BTW, you all are great and I hope to get to meet you once I'm settled in.

Hello,
Have you made any progress with finding a place to stay?
PS. Congrats on the job and good luck with your move!!

Hi Kinsey
Contradulations on your job confirmation!! You replyed to an older post of mine with a number of rental suggestions from your employer and I appreciated the help. I recently returned from a visit. I'm not sure what you are looking to pay but at this time of year there seems to be plenty of availability. I'm not sure I would count on that in a few months, however. You might want to call Reliable Realty 774-8360 in St Croix, they seem to handle a number of rentals in the area. I don't have personal experience with them, just that I've seen there name on a very high percentage of rentals I've seen posted over the last several months in the on line paper. I wish I could be more help but I'm not there yet and still learning the area myself. As I recall you are moving soon, yes? Call the condos that are available and ask who handles their rentals, watch the paper on line or buy it when you get there. For certain ask everyone you meet!. I think you'll find something within a week or two of looking at this time of year, that was my impression. Best of luck to you. Hopefully we'll meet one day when we're both settled on island and this hard part is behind us.

I have a fully furnished two bedroom, two bathroom condo on the north shore that will be available for rent after Oct. 12. If you are interested, let me know and I'll give you more information.
You will not have trouble finding housing. Work with your UVI contacts. Once you get to the university, you will see ads posted all over the campus for apartments. You should be able to find a good place within a few minute's drive.
There is no need to stockpile beforehand. There are plenty of stores near UVI-STX.
