Ryan S.

I am also contemplating...no actually...I plan on moving to STT this coming spring to do my MA in Ed, and hopefully be able to teach there...I am from California, 27 yrs. old, graduated in San Jose State University...BA in Liberal Studies for Teachers...

I will be visiting this coming 17th of June to check out the place, as a pre move. This roommate situation sounds so appealing and economical. Anyway, hit me up.. your resume' 🙂 sounds so interesting (i.e. laid back, relaxed, and a rum drinker too...impressive... 🙂

Anyways, I hope to meet all of you in June....

Jhannet,
Hello to you as well. Yeah, i'm pretty much laid back and looking to have a fun time while I get my work done. I'm tired of the concrete jungle and would like a good dose of the sun and beaches before I have to go back to job in DC.

Gang,

Yeah, I'm thinking of shipping my vehicle to STT as well. I got a quote from ManagedFreight for $700 from Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale, FL) to STT for my Chevrolet Blazer. Plus $270 for clearance and processing fees. I'm not sure if these clearance and processing fees include VI registration.

I second Nate's idea to start another thread where we can figure out when people are going to be there and perhaps to discuss other things like what kind of place people would like to have, location, rent, etc.

I'll go back to the index and try and start the thread.

Latahs
Ryan

Hey,

Someone that is computer savy needs to start a web site where we can go and put a little bit of info down (name, age, time of arrival, e-mails, etc...). I think something like that is possible I just do not know how to do it.

Hello Kyle P.,

We welcome suggestions for helpful tools for this web site. I don't quite understand what you have in mind? I got that you want each person to add their info. but for what use? are you thinking a set up like personals so folks with like interest and moving around the same time can meet up? If its just a list of people; networking would require e-mailing back and forth leaving some people out, or you'd have to cc everyone each time. If you want folks to subscribe and then everyone receives the messages from everyone else thats a newsgroup, those are dated but still used, sort of replaced by message boards/discussion forums. Or perhaps another board just for "are you moving in June, want to talk" type post? Give me a better idea of what you have in mind.

Hello Everyone,

Great thread with lots of networking. Adam started a new thread called Potential Movers - Emails as a continuation of this one and to get the names of those interested in moving about the same time organized so please look for that post or start your own new thread.

This thread presently contains 75 post and is the longest one to date 🙂 but I am closing it (which won't allow new post to be added but will still be accessiable for reading it) as it is pushing new topics off the first page without them really getting discussed.

Again please look for Adam's post which is a 'part 2' to this one.

Thank you and all the best with all of your individual and group plans!!
