Apparently Robert's and Ainsley's closed two nights ago, and Elysian management claims to have first heard about it when they saw a "closed" sign on the doors. Elysian is scrambling to find someone to re-open the restaurants. The coconut telegraph purports that employees had been having problems lately cashing their paychecks.

And if you want to eat at Toad and Tart you need to do so pronto, as its owner will be permanently closing its doors on July 31st.

What I've heard from employees was that Elysian raised the rent again. Overhead was out of control. I don't believe either management -- Elysian or Robert's -- somebody knew before the "due to techincal difficulties" sign was posted.

Yes, and she seems content with her decision.

How about one last get together there before the old Tart closes?

That is too bad. Roberts was my favorite restaurant on the island. Will miss it when I visit. Hope he is able to continue somewhere.

Due to lack of business or she is tiered of it? I've only been here a year but can say that she serves some really good food and in a wacky atmosphere. Never busy though. I always though people over looked it because of its location.

Bill:

What about the Twisted Taco (Pavillions & Pools) & the Banana Cabana (Sapphire Beach)?

Both are still open. I saw Banana Cabana's grills going yesterday while I was on the beach at Sapphire. Twisted Taco is always closed on Mondays, but should be open today (I know someone who works there 😉 )

yes the TT and BC are open.

Robert's and Ashlees are closed for good.

I will miss Roberts. Sent many people there.

I hope he tries again. Would like him to come to Sapphire Resort when they get things done.
