Richard in St.Croix
Anyone knows his story? Use to walk the street almost naked at times when I was in school. I seen him recently and he looked good. He was cleaned up and happy(he was always happy btw). There was a thread about him I seen recently but I can't find it.
EDIT: I found a pic online. (I removed the direct link to the pic and posted the blogpost instead)
You could find a pic of him here
Maybe the next time you see him, you can ask him? Doesn't sit right with me when we start posting pics of people and start talking about them, without (presumably) their OK.

I think you took my questioning the wrong way. I found that pic online from someone's blog. I seen him once and when I see him again I'll definitely speak to him.
Maybe some context will help. Imagine growing up on an island, for 19 years, where you seen people who live on the street whether it's drugs etc. Then you leave for 11 years come back and here's this guy who always had a bubbly personality(we used to shout "shabba!" from the school bus and he would reply "dem deh ya" ) all cleaned up and looking great. I just came back in July. I seen him one day randomly on my lunch break. I figured maybe someone knows him.
For what it's worth, your original post didn't seem to be ill intended at all. In fact, it reflected interest in what appears to be a positive turn in a person's life which I would say is something to always be interested in and recognize.
I hope you find what you are looking for and perhaps have the opportunity to connect.
Richard is alive and well and looking very good.
Saw him at the St Paddy's parade on the boardwalk.
Dressed nice, clean, and coherent...
A friend of ours chatted him up.
I took that picture in June of 2008 after in having a morning conversation with Richard. I am a frequent visitor since 2003. I have not seen him in recent years but heard of his return clean and sober.
We moved west last year and haven't gotten back to Csted as often as usual. I've known him for years and knew when he left, but, haven't heard of his return. This is good news! I look forward to seeing him again clean and sober.
There was a nice street artist back in the 90's with similar story. He's still clean and doing well working steady at a well known downtown restaurant.
Thank you for your report on Richard. Back in the 90's he was always a headline topic in the Island Melee paper. Fun times!
Remember "Richard for Senate"!!
i read 1 edition of the island melee paper, how fun that was
Liked that newsletter.
Didn't know the Melee was on St Thomas!! Popular publication.
I'd snag it when I would see it.
Can't remember where I'd pick it up from as it was so long ago.
Come on, who doesn't like a little "island melee!"
Did anyone ever find out who published it?

It was never a secret:

Wish someone would start it up again.

I don't believe that it was widely known when it was in print form (At least it was't known to myself and others on island)
But like everything else, you are the final arbitrator...
An arbitrator is someone who settles a dispute and I don't see where there was any dispute. You asked a question and I answered it. My bad.
I seen Richard today, on my lunch break. Chopped it up with him a bit and he told me that he's just trying to do the right thing. I told him that we gotta link so he could share his story with me. He said "Sure. He got a real story to tell. He was once a great drummer" ... I'll share with you guys when I do.
