Hi, I am going to move to either STT or STJ in June and will be looking for a job as a server. Are there any restaurants that any of you know about that are consistanly busy and are expensive. Any place anyone would recommend I try and get a job at that will enable me to make some money. Also, would you recommend working on STJ and living on STT?

thanks
Jeremy

Hello Jeremy,

Living on St. Thomas and working on St. John is fine if you are up for the commute. It might seem like nothing but can become a pain. Depends on you. People do it everyday.

Restaurants on St. Thomas. Lunch Shift: Greenhouse is not an expensive restaurant, its a bar/restaurant but its consistantly busy with cruise passengers for lunch and its a popular hang out in the evenings. Cafe Amici is also popular with cruise passengers for lunch and is a nice restaurant. There are several others downtown that would be busy with cruise people and folks that work downtown. Herves I believe is open for lunch its more of a fine dining restaurant downtown. For dinner/more expensive/& popular: you might try Banana Tree Grill, Craig & Sallys, Herves, Room with a View, Old Stone Farm House & some of the resort restaurants.

In reference to living on STT and working on STJ, keep in mind that the ferry runs until 11, and if you are working a closing shift that may be a problem.
Also, I believe the rent is usually higher on STJ if you chose that island.
