Residential Electricity Cost
I have done some research and have found several different price ranges for WAPA electricity on St. Thomas. Can someone living there now please tell me how much electricity is per kilowatt hour? I hope its not 30 cents...damnit! Thanks in advance, Tim.Daly@yahoo.com
if you don't want it to be 30 cents per kilowatt.... just wait for their upcoming 33% rate hike! How does 40 cents per kilowatt sound to you?
Presently the rate is @ $.24 per KWH and Alexandra is correct about WAPA's request for a 30% increase.
Some Condo Assoc's Bill at the $.30 rate because they only have one meter to the complex.
So, I just had a conversation with a friend who has a 2 bedroom apt. Her WAPA bills used to be $180/mo., but since she started shutting off the breaker everywhere but for the fridge, it has gone down to $50. I think we are going to attempt this method. $130/mo. in savings in nothing to sneeze at.
wow. I run a thousand watt machine (its a health thing)...at .40 per kH I am looking at $300 a month. That won't even cover my refridgerator or laptop or tv.........wow.
According to my current electric bill here on STX, the cost per kw is 26.8 cents. The bill consists of a $5 per month service charge and four surcharges, one of which is the LEAC (levelized energy-adjustment clause). The current LEAC charge is 19.2759 cents per kw and the other three surcharges add up to 7.52 cents per kw. If the proposed increase in the LEAC is approved the new LEAC charge would be 27.8505 cents per kw, resulting in a new total cost of 35.37 cents per kw.
