Dear Gilbert,
At the top of this forum page there is a post by moderator "Islander" which directs new posters to "click here."
If you click onto that post you'll find a wealth of information about relocation right at your fingertips covering all the U.S. Virgin Islands, ranging from "moving stories" posted by people who both moved here and stayed and those who moved here and left, along with all sorts of information about relocation expenses, general living expenses, housing and jobs.
After you've absorbed all that information, you can do a "search" on this forum's search engine to get information on maybe certain things that might not have been addressed to your satisfaction. So many questions have been asked and answered in great detail already and this is a great forum to explore, whichever island you're thinking of moving to.
There are always questions being asked and answered on this very active forum but you'll find your research so much easier if you first absorb what's already been discussed in detail on so many basic subjects and go from there. Reading what's already here will serve you well in preparing for a PMV (pre-move visit) which is another subject you'll find both well-documented and instructional. Welcome to the forum.
Well said STT Resident! I am impressed. 🙂
Hello Gilbert,
Many would love to provide you with info, just let us know a bit about you and what you are looking for in moving to the islands. The islands have everything you need, just not everything you want, unless you want for nothing! Good luck. This is the best site for moving to the islands.

narrowing down the island you will move to is definitely your first step. After that, what also is important for people to know to help with questions about housing is if you are moving alone or with family or a friend along. Children and pets can complicate housing options since many properties don't allow pets and quite a few are 1-BDR and therefore don't accommodate children very well. Price range also comes into play. Rents are fairly high in the islands. We don't have apartment complexes like most people are used to on the mainland and they are often quite surprised by that. If you are moving here with a job offer, some employers will help with moving expenses and possibly with a housing stipend. More info about you and your specific situation will make it much easier for people to help you collect the info you need.
