My husband and I are relocating to St. Thomas within next 3 months. Moving from Lower Alabama. Have visited and familiar with layout.

Looking for furnished (1 - 2 bedroom) rental house/condo/apt on Northeast / East or Water Island. Priced under $1,000.00 that includes utilities. Long term rental (6 months to 1 year) no pets or children, non-smokers.

If anyone has anything matching our criteria please email me at chucarmal@gulftel.com.

Thanks for any assistance.

Carmen: There are several 1 bdrm apartments listed in today's paper that would come close (might have to go over $1000 a bit.) However, who knows what will be in three months... As always, it is recommended that you come down and see the places for yourself. Good luck!

Hello Carmen,

You should read through the section on housing in the moving guide online - scroll to the top of this page and select moving then select housing. You should also get a Settlers Handbook if you have not already - great resource for someone moving here or interested in living here... you can get it from http://www.vitraders.com Also you really want to see an apartment before renting or signing a lease... what the best suggestion I have would be is to stay in a short terms place while securing long term place so you can look around and select an apartment you really like... once on island you can look in the Islander Trader and call and go visit different apartments. Also visit

http://www.flamboyantmanor.com (cut and paste in address spot)

You can do long term (3-6-12 month rentals with them or short term also... they are located over in Frenchamans Bay great location, visited them to see what it was like and they have great view also, rooms were nice, little laundry facility by coin on permisses.... visit that site and call and see if that might work for you.

flamboyant manor would be a great short term rental. we stayed there when we moved down. it's a great location on the south side, near morning star beach and close to a grocery store, k-mart, gas station etc. they have a one bedroom and several studios. good luck!
