Relocating to St. Thomas
Hello we are moving to St. Thomas on July 17th for an indefinate amount of time. We are in the process of contacting realty agencies in order to help in the rental process. We also are needing to purchase a vehiocle and find employment. We already have are start-up funds and now just need take care of the paticulars if anyone have any advise or tips please let us now.
DO NOTHING ELSE except find someplace to stay for a week or so. Look for an apartment when you get here. Likewise a car. This is slow season and you should find an apartment that suits you within a week.
Once you know where you are going to live, then look for jobs that are reasonably close. I know that sounds silly on islands the size of the Virgins, but trust me. 5 miles here is not like 5 miles on the continent.
Good luck.
Thanks for the advise we really appreciate it and need it! Thanks again
Hello,
What type of employment are you looking for, perhaps folks can give suggestion of where you might start looking; numbers/business so that you have a list when you get here and can get to it.

I just graduated majoring in advertising and public relations with a minor in finance. I also have tons of retail and secretarial experience in addition to the Ad/Pr and event planning experience.
Scott on the other hand has a degree in Art and a PHD in horticulture and has owned his own landscape business for the past 10 years.
If anyone has suggestions please let me know.
Thanks again
Do they have any secretarial jobs? Call center for customer service representatives?
My 2 children and I are planning the move to the islands from Florida. Can't wait to get there but a lot of details to still work out. Getting rid of everything (almost) and going down. Do you have any idea about car prices? We only want to ship one car and pick up another one there. Your input would be very appreciated!
I NEED A APARTMENT OR A ROOM MATE, ANY ADVICE
There is a temporary agency on St. Thomas - CET Business Services. Lots of secretarial type work and more. Good place to begin looking for a job - get in the office - work - see if you would like working at that particular place.
David: I have a short term two bedroom - what are you looking for?
