Relocating to St Thomas
Any one knows a nice place to move-in in St Thomas (for 2 yrs) ... preferable / 2 Bdr Condo.
There are lots of nice places/apartments/houses/condos on St. Thomas... You really need to check them out though - thats the key - seeing them, seeing what the view is like, the rooms, the set up, where its located ect. before doing with a lease for it. Sapphire has nice condos, Secret Harbor does too. Mahagony Run has a nice set up - but road fees, water... can really get pricey there if that is a concern - if not there are pools, tennis, golf course there. There are other condos as well, quite a few out around Bolongo area too.

Thanks for the info...
I will be arriving in St Thomas on 6/9 for 2 wks... If you could let me know where could I gather information for these places and others would be great.
Also, I was reading about the Washer/Dryer situation... is this really a big problem?
And since we are talking about water... and road fees?? What would it be considered "pricey" (an averege $$$)? and what are the road fees???
CB.
Claude: During your two week tour you should be able to find out all you want to know about renting on St Thomas. The Island Trader now comes out on Thursday, and it is chock full of info...apartments, cottages and houses for rent, used cars and boats, stuff people are selling, as well as special events, etc.
Re: your question about the washer and dryer....Is it a problem? Well, this is one of the questions you will need to ask yourself. Living on St Thomas does not resemble living on the mainland. If you need to have things like on the mainland, it might be a problem. Most people here are accustomed to laundomats. They are expensive, again, because of the water. I hate to be cryptic, but newbies who want stateside convenience are generally unhappy here. Are you asking about price of water? I think in general it is a nickel a gallon, although I have paid a dime a gallon. It all depends on the rain and your supplier (if you are on "city water" or not). Electricity is also very expensive, compared to most places on the mainland, you learn to conserve...If you were asking about 2 bedroom condos being expensive... probably $2000 + electric and water/month.
Hello,
While on St. Thomas pick up the Newspapers and for sure the Island Trader and go through the listings - call them and go check out the apartments and condos available.
There is a recent post from someone who came to St. Thomas to check things out - you should read it - was really good.
Washer being a big problem - not really, there are laundrys in the busy areas. Road Fees - I think I mentioned that in talking about Mahogany Run - its a golf course and condo area.... they charge a road fee for maintenance of the roads. I don't know that other condo places do this - but Mahogony Run is a large relatively private area - the roads are used basically only by those staying there.
