Religion and churches in the VI
i think that's a stretch because the Episcopal / Anglican communion is on the verge of remerging with the Catholic Church. Expect to see serious movement within the next 8 years.
The Church of England merging with the Catholics??? Shades of the Ancient Orthodox British Church and that band of um, thinkers.
I would't hold yr breath there, Old Simpkie...all those burnings at the stake for nothing????? Sheesh , what a waste. Mind you, I did hear that some of the Catholic Diocese might be a bit strapped for cash....
Inasmuch as the Articles of the Faith for the Episcopal Church repudiate the veneration of the Virgin Mary, the Pope (and the doctine of Papal Infallability), the use of saints to make intercession, etc. I wouldn't expect to see anything resembling a merger ever. Those are pretty basic items to disagree upon, and that's not even taking into consideration current hot button issues such birth control, celibacy, homosexuality...........
Not going to happen.
simkiss: What do you think that the Holy Father will do about the Presiding Bishop? 😉

Sorry EE, but that is not a question for a family oriented moving forum.
"What do you think that the Holy Father will do about the Presiding Bishop?"
To which "Holy Father" are you referring, the Roman Pope (Pope Benedict XVI) or the Pope of Alexandria (Pope Shenouda III) ?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pope (Roman Pope)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pope_Shenouda_III_of_Alexandria (Pope of Alexandria)
(I posted my question above earlier today but "someone" removed the post . Since it's a legitimate question I can only surmise that the administrator did not understand that there is more than one Pope. Thus, I have reposted my original question and added a couple of basic educational references. )
The Anglican church, i expect, will collapse, and the results will be folding in, what will become 6% of the church body. Don't ask me how I know. You wouldn't believe me anyhow. :o)))))))
Yes Simkiss, the Anglican Church will fold and the Queen will become a King.
No wonder you have to travel miles in the North East to meet like minded religionists.
Ah Ah Ah-choo. Ah Ah Ah-crazy Excuse my sneeze.
ROFL. Thank you.
Oh, try us, kiss.......we believe a lot of stuff....I still want to know about the Pope you're referring to.
Oh yea of little faith in Simpleton's pope
Not only is the hat blinding me but so is the shirt....
Um, God told you?
ok. we've done a lot on politics, now we've touched on religion....should we move on to sex?
Sure - you first, beachie! I'm female...and you?
Whoops, sorry Jane. I was trying to be funny, not mean. Sorry if offended.
Maybe I should put on a foil hat when I'm trying to crack a joke. 🙂
Actually, the way I heard it, the Roman Catholic Church was planning to merge into Google as a subsidiary and thus save itself from financial ruin. The Pope would get to keep his title and get unlimited posts on YouTube, but his edicts and infalibility would be up to a Wiki community. I guess that would mean the Anglican Church would be stuck with becoming part of Microsoft to survive, but they would have to find a way to appoint Bill Gates as a symbolic Regent (he already has greater authority than Her Majesty, so it shouldn't be THAT hard). Might not be all that bad, can you imagine the first release of Stained Glass Windows Vista?
Better yet, picture zooming in to a 3D view of any place you want in Google Heaven...
