I am A addiction Counselor who was treated for addiction on the Island and was injured there, A wonderful surgeon named Dr. Walter J.Pedersen operated on me and I was told that he was chief of the hospital, (so I heard) and would like to know if there are any rehabilitation positions there, for a counselor with an AS/AA degree. ? P.S. I would also like to thank him for saving my life.

I'm guessing you're talking about STX. I don't know about employment possibilities at the hospital but I suspect that experience will be important. You can reach the hospital at: 340-778-6311. Also, to add to dnt's comments, the alcohol rehab programs are under the Health Department, not the hospital. On St Croix, there are listings for: Mental Health Alcoholism- 773-1992 and Substance Abuse- 773-5150. I am not familiar with the organization. With any government job, you really 1) need to be living on island, 2) have to make personal contact, sometimes over a very long time.
