In case someone missed it, there is a registration event at the St Thomas Yacht Club this Friday night, July 28th from 6-8pm. To vote in any election, you must be a registered voter. Registration to vote in the Democratic Primary ends August 10th. You can change your affiliation at this special event or at any election system office.

Election system offices:
St Croix- Sunny Isle Shopping Center Annex- 773-1021
St Thomas- 22 Crystal Gade- 774-3107

You must affiliate yourself with a party in order to vote in the primary, correct?

Correct, and most everyone registers Democrat because that's the only way one's vote carries any influence.

Yes. You can only vote in the primary for candidates in the party for which you registered. Same as most states.

There is a registration/voting demonstration event this Saturday at KMart Sunny Isle on STX. If you don't vote- don't gripe!

Hi EE.

I told someone about Friday evening's registration event at the St Thomas Yacht Club and they asked me about the closest place to park while they zip in and register. As I'm not a yachtie and don't belong to the club I have no idea. What do you recommend?

dnt: There is parking right there at the Yacht Club. I would go early, though. There is also IC-24 racing and dinner on Friday, so it is a hopping place. Are you telling me that you have never been to the Yacht Club??? Hmm...

Do you all know how to get there?

Just on the off-chance that you mean parking for your boat...you could call on the radio to see if there is space at the dock for under 30 min or could park at Christmas Cove and dinghy over... (Oopsie, I just re-read and saw you aren't a yachtie. Well, you COULD be, dnt!)

EE,

There are many places here I've never been! I know where the Yacht Club is but I've never checked the place out. I'm not especially fond of eating out, I loathe shopping and Red Hook isn't on the way to anything for me so I only go there when I want to use the ferry or if the hardware store is the only place I can find something I'm looking for.

Thanks for the parking information and the tip about the racing.
