Refrigerator Repairman on STX
Does anyone have a recommendation for a refrigerator repair man on STX.
We just had "Mike" from Oscar Refrig. Came highly recommended.
I highly recommend Mike from Oscar's. He's prompt, will call if he's running behind, he'll call to let you know he's on the way, will call one of the other techs if he doesn't have the part he needs on his truck...basically he cares. A great asset to Oscar's and St Croix. (tu)(tu)(tu)
I agree about Mike. He also does washers, dryers, dishwashers, A/Cs and who knows what else.
According to fanclub.com/mikeonstx, Mike will also do your laundry and pay your wapa bill.
Wow, if I were single...... lol.
I'd like to retract my positive opinion of Oscars Refrig on StX.
A month after "Mikes" happy visit to diagnose our problem, Oscar's was called to find out when they will be back to repair our frig, and they say, "Mike forgot to order the parts and we'll have to order them."
TWO months go by.
Oscars is called again and we hear their second excuse: "They didn't come in the shipment from P.R. as expected, will be in next week's shipment."
Three weeks go by and Oscars is called again: "The parts came in, we'll call to schedule the appointment."
Day of the Appointment: "We're sorry but we just found out that only 2 of the 3 parts came in. We have to wait on the other part."
Island or no island, taking four months to get late-model refrig parts is just really bad business.
Oscars? (td)
We had to learn this the hard way as well. We always order the parts ourselves now. This kind of problem would happen stateside but you could usually get it resolved by complaining to someone high up the food chain (if it was a large company). Here it just works better to order your own parts for everything.
I also retract my positive opinion of Oscars Refrig on StX. We've been waiting for them to finish installing a split A/C for weeks now. There was an incompatible part involved. They never tell me what's happening, and I have to call frequenty to keep things moving. Even then, it doesn't move.
Sounds like quintessential local repairs to me.
I have had the disservice (as MANY here have) to have locals repair stuff...
I called them retarded(they ARE), some here(ON THIS BOARD) vehemently disagreed(to the point that they insinuated I absolutely hated everyone & everything here, that i was out of touch with Island life!!!).
Of course, they know better, they actually had someone fix something(& were afraid to elaborate on the outcome here, as they would look like idiots as well)
Of, course, we can see example after example here again & again the lack of competence of workmanship.
I stand by my original statements & opinions!!!!
