Saw a great aerial view of the new car ferry on STJ posted on the Vacation Message Board and wondered if anyone had any photos to share with respect to the in-progress-when-I-left construction of the new STT ferry dock in Red Hook.

Likewise, any photos of the building that was almost completed between Marina Market and the street, and anything of the development that was slated to go in across the street from the ferry dock? The later was supposedly going to house a parking structure as well as new stores and offices. I had even heard Marina Market was going to move over there when completed.

Thanks all.

Paul: I was just thinking of you the other day as the flamboyants are starting to bloom!!

The construction around Marina Market is just about done. The new building is going to house- a real estate office! They are destroying the hill across from the ferry dock for the office building complex. Currently the hill looks much like Cruz Bay did when they were destroying the hillside for the condoabomination building there. The ferry dock seems to be moving along. I saw that they were up to the roof structure the other day. Traffic is a mess because there is only a small turn in for drop offs.

Land in the east end is going for $1.25 million for 1/2 acre, waterfront.

Property next door to my old landlord sold for $950,000 (had been asking and were supposedly firm on $975,000!), and a realtor told my landlady that her property is worth over a million dollars!

I'm not surprised since it's a beautiful site with a really dramatic cove of beach and of course Henry's steps down to it. As well as my old front yard rocky beach, 50 feet down from my front door. AND, the adjacent lot to the West can never be sold since relatives of the original owners are buried on it somewhere!!!!!

Great times sitting reading by the BBQ perched above the beach, watching the clouds and the ships passing in review. Also sitting out there under the stars waiting for the electricity to come back on!!!!

Can't wait to see new photos of the new and improved Red Hook. Kinda sorry they had to "take out" the hill, for the new construction, but I'm sure it's gonna look really spify.

Flamboyant's blooming and snorkling at Secret Harbor - ah yes, along with them I miss my VI good friends! I've been thinking about you guys too.
