Received My 2006 RE Tax Bill Today for STX
The Bill is due NLT by Sept 22,2008!
Was it a lot higher than previous bills?
My 2005 Tax Bill Assessed Total $121,298.00, Tax Rate was 0.0125 Amount of Tax 909.74
My 2006 Tax Bill Assessed Total $192.400.00, Tax Rate was 0.003770 Amount of tax 725.35
Both years (2005 & 2006) there is and was an additional $50.00 Sewer Users Fee!
Lizard: Do you actually use a sewer??
East Ender,
My Condo Complex has City Sewers and Water (Gallows Bay) section of Christiansted!
I thought it might be a scam... you know, charge for a service you didn't get! 😉
No scam, and their pretty good at maintaining the system, had some back-ups over the years, fixed same day unless it was on the weekend.

Unheard of here in St. Thomas, "good at maintaining" ..isn`t something we are accustomed to!
Good for you, there IS hope!
Is the service so good BC Chucks husband was awarded the sewer contract with his sewage company W/O employees or equipment?
Or is it that good as it is, & if so, why did Chucky`s hubby get the contract?
Was that sewage on the sidewalks of STX? Or was that Bert Byan mouthing off?
I received my tax bill this week also for 2006. I thought I had already paid it last year. I guess I had paid for 2005 despite not closing on the property until Sept of 2005. . . I remember someone talking about the importance of saving all the paperwork in a prior post. I found my cancelled check but no paperwork with it. By the way, my taxes are lower for 2006 than what I paid before (which I guess was for 2005). New goal - save all paperwork and write on the check what year payment is for).
C Urchin 😀
don't worry, you didn't pay your 2006 tax bill last year, that is the bill that just came out. last year the 2005 bill was issued. you probably also got a credit at your closing for part of the 2005 tax bill.
