Real Estate
My husband and I are interested in purchasing some land on St Croix. I have been looking at online listings and I have seen several lots in Enfiled Green. Can anyone tell me about the neighborhood? We are also interested in the north shore. From the photos on the listings, it looks as if a lot of the land is undeveloped. Is it privately owned? Is any of it conservation land? Finally are there any online data sources like the Assessor's office or the Registry of Deeds that I could go to to get more detailed maps? Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks
Kathy
Any Crucians have information on the named areas?

Enfield Green has some very nice houses, and it is a gated community. Most of the people who own homes there are West Indians, and they are very proud of this nice, clean, safe neighborhood. Be careful though, there have been some problems with houses "settling". The community is on South Shore, and very close to the coastline.
There are some lots available on the North Shore, but most North Shore lots have spectacular views of the Caribbean and some of the islands in the distance, so they tend to be expensive. Yes, a lot of the land on the North Shore is undeveloped, but the North Shore is also home to some nice restaurants, the newly organized Mardi Croix festivities, diving at Cane Bay, and the Carambola Resort, a world-class facility.
What about Tan Tan Terrace, anyone know where it is, and is it a nice area? Also where is this Enfield Green, it is not on any of my maps. The free ones we got there at the hotel.
thanks
Tan Tan Terrace is adjacent to the Sion Farm housing development. You might want to look for Estate Sion Farm on your map. Don't know if you're looking to rent or buy, but check out Mary's Fancy / Queen Quarter area. The homes there are comparably priced and it's a much nicer area than Sion Farm / Tan Tan Terrace.
Enfield Green is located on the southwestern side of the island, not too far west of the airport. It will probably not show on the maps. Just look for the airport (also on the south side of the island) and Enfield Green is west of that.
We bought two acres on st. croix. See Joe St. Martin at Remax, he really did a good job for us, knows the island inside and out and found us a deal we couldn't refuse.
