I have been an loyal reader on this board for a while now. The information you guys provide here is of great help to me and my partner. We had our visits to both STT and STX last year and we are now in the process of purchasing a villa in STX.
We are looking for a real estate lawyer in STX that can help us in the purchasing process and the close. We are also looking for a home inspector that can provide reliable comments on the property.
Any recommandations are greatly appreciated.

We just finished our home purchase on STX and highly recommend Rick Covert for the home inspection and Sam Grey at Nichols, Newman, Logan & D'Eramo as a real estate attorney. Sam's assistant, Lorraine, is worth her weight in gold. She made the usual headaches of purchasing a home virtually non-existent. Good luck!

I wholeheartedly second the recommendation of Sam Grey & Lorraine Durand as a wonderful pair to close your real estate transaction with minimal effort on your part. Lorraine stays in constant touch via email to keep you informed of the status of the file. Their office number is 340-773-3200. That will get you the switchboard/receptionist. A second inspector to consider is Rick Rothenberger with Caribbean Engineering. He does a very in-depth inspection and not only finds the problem areas, but gives you ideas on how to maintain your property in this climate. His # is: 340-277-9576.
Caribbean Engineering also does surveys and engineering inspections and plans.
