Real Estate Agents?
Has anyone ever dealt with Diana Robinson from Paradise Properties? I have emailed her several times with no response...not getting a good vibe.
what island are you looking for? I have had a problem finding one on stx. I have one on stt Dennis let me know if you need his info..
St. Croix.
'Phone the one you've been trying to reach. If there's no reasonable excuse for her not replying to your emails (outages, etc.) then drop her and find someone else. Several STX posters have recommended agents in the past so you should get plenty of options.
I'd highly recommend Chris and Christie Powers at Calabash. I've known them for years, and they're top-notch realtors and people.

Hello. We used Kim Lucas. Very satisfied with her. We even got a tour of the island from her when we arrived. I would highly recommend her without question. She will be attentive to all your needs. Good Luck.Bill
WOW! Thank you all for these recommendations...we will reach out to all of them and go from there!

and some of the others too.
We recently sold our homes on STX and although we did not have our property listed with her, Kim Lucas showed our home more than any other agent and eventually sold it.
We had a total of 64 showings and 19 were by Kim. If I were selling another property, I would seriously consider Kim to market the property.
If I tried to contact a broker and they did not respond, they would be off my list, regardless of any recommendations. In this day and age, there is NO reason not to respond since their smart phones are attached to their bodies 24/7.

Hardest RE worker on the Island, Kim!
She will never let you down.

Yes for Kim Lucas!! She's really good!
Kim Lucas was NOT helpful to us. In fact she told us to up our budget or to not bother moving to STX at all. She even totally disregarded the typed of homes we were looking for and only sent us Neely renovated homes out of the price range we asked for. We also told her we did not want to be on the east end and that was all she sent us. In my opinion she is only looking out for her commission. And I've had others tell me the same thing.
Now when I contacted Cynthia Taylor and told her about my experience w/ Kim (I did not use Kim's name when I talked to Cynthia) and how she said we shouldn't' even try to move to STX on the budget we were looking in, she told me that was ridiculous and sent us homes to look at, in our price range, in good neighborhoods, and nice well kept homes that weren't newly demos but where we could put our own touches on it.
+1 for Kim Lucas. She is the only person on the island that is not on island time (no kidding). Professional, courteous, and did an excellent job managing our expectations. Not knowing exactly where we wanted to buy, we were given a range of locations and pricing options. The closing process was prolonged due to some very "difficult" sellers, and Kim was patient and diplomatic throughout the entire process. Would easily recommend her to anyone buying property on the island.
Buyer's need to have a good communication with their agent, whether they are buyer or seller.
Agents need to respond to inquiries.
Be to be serious and realistic about what your max budget, location and expectetions may be.
What works for one, doesn't mean it'll work for all.
The majority of Realtors that I know work hard for both clients and customers or those customers/clients will move on to someone that will attempt to accommodate them.
Not always possible! Usually probably.
There's a lot of give and take on both sides.
What should not be done is to disparage business professionals on a public forum unless there is gross negligence.
Not your cup of tea? Move On!
Kim Lucas was very good for us as buyers last year. She is patient, knows her stuff, she showed us a good number of properties, and we eventually found the perfect place. She is amazing, and I would recommend her without reservation.
Sorry Alana but I do not feel that I disparaged a professional. I did not make anything up or take things out of context. I just told people exactly what happened to us w/ Kim and how other people I've talked to about her mentioned similar issues w/ her. I also voiced my opinion about her behavior. With people saying how wonderful she is they also deserve to know how she lacks as well. We almost gave up on our dream because of her negative attitude. Luckily after a day or two I realized she was probably wrong and decided to do my due diligence and do more research and found a more down to earth realtor who said our dream was possible and would help us achieve it.
Again, just my opinion.
