All right I should have opened my mouth and said I hide behind a Model A Ford cyber name. I would still like to meet people and put a screen name and face together. How about July 25 or August 2. Molly's again or bring a dish to Magens? I did enjoy Molly's and will bring a sign next time. Less work then the beach bring food thing.

There is a get-together being planned for August 18 at the Toad and Tart. This is a gathering of regular visitors and residents alike that has been going on for about 12 years. Many from the VINow travel and relocation boards have attended in the past.
Last year The Old Tart set up a fine bunch of tasty treats, and has offered to do the same again. $20 and cash bar, from 6 pm until 9:30.
The best thing is, since the Toad and Tart is being opened for just this gathering that night, everyone there will be the ones you're meeting. There won't be any confusion. Just walk in and start mingling.
amodford30, I'm not trying to hijack your thread, just offering either an alternative or an additional way to get together.

How about if we do both? Have a get together on the 2nd of August and follow up with our new found friends at the Toad and Tart on the 18th of August?
We could do a beach gathering at Magens (left side), everyone bring a dish to share.

The old Tart is going to need some numbers. Since the restaurant is normally closed on Tuesdays, she won't open up for fewer than 15, I think. I don't blame her. So, if anyone is seriously considering going, please post it either on this thread or on the one on the Travel Board. Thanks.

Yes Put me down for two at the Toad and Tart. Also will wear a very load shirt to Molly's on the second. Looked for this thread the other day and it seemed to have disappeared for a while. will try to keep it bumped up. I did get a weird message attempting a post that I was detected as a spammer. I may have been one in Hawaiian islands, but even MC D's gives you spam with your meal there!

i picture a shirt with old fashioned cars all over it. When you twist the top button it goes, "VRRRROOOOMMM.....VRRRROOOOMMMM.....VRRRROOOOMMMM"

Nannerz, you're moving down to St. Thomas on August 17? That's wonderful. So our little gathering at Toad and Tart on Aug. 18 can be a great big "Welcome" party. How many will be with you?

Yes, moving back has been a long time coming. Lived on STJ in the mid 90's, but decided STT would be better option this go around. Can't wait, 3 weeks from today! It will be myself and my boyfriend. The kids will not be in attendance at T&T 🙂

Did the August 2 get-together get itself together? I hope you all found each other this time and had a good time. It won't be so difficult on August 18, because everyone there will be for the gathering.

our get together turned out to be just Amodford and his wife! We had fun anyways, but it would have been nice to meet more people. we will be at T&T on 18th though

Get to the get-together at Toad and Tart and you won't be disappointed. Take it from a now-gone island resident for a few years, these get-togethers are a great place to put names and faces to words you've read.
