Re: Dive Spots
Hey All,
Just wondering if anyone knew the cherry dives spots around St. Thomas. I might have an opportunity to be a helping hand at a dive shop there and would probably learn about some sick spots any ways, but I just wanted to know if there was an insider's take on it. Thanks in advance.

There is so much to be seen here, most people don't like to share their 'secret'spots, like where they find lobsters, or certain shipwrecks, but with a few dives, you'll not care about what everyone else is doing and just enjoy what you are seeing, cuz there is lots to see!

That makes sense Marty. This means that in my free time I have the chance to explore!!! I want to find my own personal shipwreck that I don't tell anyone about!!!

Another good spot is just off of Caravel (sp) Rock. Besides the normal sea life there is a natural formation that resembles a road surface (much like that off of Bimini).
Can you dive without clearing immigrations?
If you enter BVI waters, you must stop by customs.
If you are diving in the BVI you will have to clear Customs and Immigration in the BVI 1st - before anchoring - and in the USVI coming back - all dive companies will do this - if you rent your own vessel you are personally responsible - [you will have to go through C+I at the STT airport when you leave the USVI ]

That sounds really interesting. I have never seen anything like that. I'll have to put it on my list. Thanks Future Islander.

Glad you mentioned this. Thank Linda.

Exit Zero,
It's like you're leaving the country and coming back in just to go diving. That is pretty crazy. Thanks for the detailed info on the process.

Raj: If you go to the BVI, you ARE leaving the country. And they will remind you.
Cartanser Senior is a STT local dive that I enjoyed one night before it was broken and moved.
Arches and Tunnels off Thatch Cay. Great dive!

Well, it does make sense. I'm glad I know, because even though you guys told me, I might have absentmindedly headed over to a dive spot in BVI without realizing it, but as you said, they remind you...

Thanks Aussie!!!
