So far 13 inches of rain at my place (North Shore area) since Tuesday morning. And it's still raining. The cistern is overflowing. I always mean to get a big new garbage can so that I can catch the overflow and use it later to rinse snorkel/dive stuff and I NEVER get around to it.

I hate to see the water go to waste, but I'm not going out to buy one today!

We've had 9.5 inches of rain in Salt River STX (also North Shore) since Tuesday morning. We have huge cisterns that aren't overflowing yet, but they haven't been this full in years.

Pouring here again in Cotton Valley. Lots of wind and some thunder. We didn't want to stay in so we went to our favorite store, Radio Shack and bought an electronics kit for JJ. Ate at JJs favorite place, McDonalds, stopped off on the way home for ice cream, came home and had toothpick races in the raging river flowing down our street until the rain drove us inside. Hubby and JJ are happily doing electronic projects in the bedroom until the rain stops some and then off to the toothpick races again. Yea!!!

15 inches of rain here at 9 pm, time to start thinking about an ark. Or at least a kayak!

Does anyone have any information about the Smith Bay area on STT, specifically Pineapple Village? We've had problems with flooding in the past so I can just imaging what is going on there right now. I may be back on island sooner than I think to do some damage control.

Here's a little update. The rain is going nowhere

In the short term, an improvement
of the weather on St. Croix is not expected until 8 pm Friday and an
improvement on St. Thomas and St. John will not be seen until about 2 am
Saturday. Following this improvement, the territory will see continued
scattered showers through Sunday. Another tropical wave is expected to
impact the territory on Sunday.

And I was sooo happy when I saw sunrise this morning!! I am sick to death of this rain. And it is a waste, with most cisterns full.
