questions about where to stay
Hello
My husband and I will be hopefully coming down in January to do our PMV. We are not really picky about where we stay but don't want to spend a lot and don't need anything fancy. The dates aren't set yet and we will probably only be down for a week. Does anyone have any ideas of where to stay that is affordable? I found one place that says it's in the middle of the jungle and you will need a car....is it safe to rent a car on the island?
Thank You!
Ha, you sound like you could be describing my place--we are in the jungle and a car is a must!
The island has Avis, Hertz, Budget and Thrifty. It is perfectly safe to rent a car and my guests have not been exposed to increased theft (like in Fla. when driving a rental car).
If you want to avoid a rental car altogether I suggest a place in town, such as Villa Fairview, or on the East End and on the safari circuit, like Pirate's Cove Marina. Otherwise there are several options on VRBO.com or other vacation rental site.
I have to say if it's a PMV then a rental car should be a must do. If you can't drive on the island it will severely limit were and how you can live there.

I have a condo on the east end of STT that is available for rent and is very inexpensive. We can arrange a rental car to be delivered to you and/or we are also along the safari route. Take a look at our website if you're interested. ( http://www.vrbo.com/93131)
I have a studio which is $90/night. You can look at www.stthomasvirginisland.com. I wouldn't want to do a PMV and not drive. Can't see the island and all you will be doing without driving around.
