On the stx today thread there is discussion about many different things that don't pertain to relocation. I am sure if anyone objects they will let you know.

Sista, I think that because this is the VI relocation board and I'm sure we all have opinions on the troubles of the rest of the world but we should limit our dicussions to the topic. just my take.

okay....that was all i wanted to know.
i imagine ones would rather give out local drug dealers phone numbers with no discretion as that is an important detail relevant to relocation?
i guess israel is not an issue then.

I imagine that some people moving to the VI might find the phone numbers relevant to relocation. In my opinion that information may have put the posters well being in danger. I did get a kick, however, that some of the law enforcement readers on this forum may have had the opportunity to read the numbers before the poster edited his post. As far as off topic posts, again, on the stx today thread many people including myself post off topic comments though most pertain to our daily lives and thoughts about living on stx.

I'm sure there are forums where Israel is a popular topic.

I must have missed it too - sounds pretty insane to me.

On the subject of Israel, my parents always told me not to discuss sex, politics or religion with strangers. It is pretty hard to totally stick to, but I think a subject like Israel would stir-up all kinds of ill feeling. I feel strongly about it too, and I'm sure you just want to vent SistaIrijah, but this is probably not the best place. Plus I'm sure you don't want to end up on a FBI Watch list (only joking!).

I think we have enough problems in the VI. Some of these can be resolved by discussion. The world affairs are beyond us to solve or to give worthwhile opinions on. That's my two cents. Sorry inflation, my three cents!

You might want to peruse the "Terms of Use" at the bottom of this page. Basically this board is for questions about relocating to the USVI. Off-topic messages can be removed. And Islander gets to decide if it is off-topic!! 😉

about 1.5 years ago this board got so wild with political discussion I stopped reading it. I used to throw stuff out there just to get a rise out of people and watch the fireworks (under another name), but the fun soon wore off, and it got quite nasty. Best to stay on topic (moving/relocating)

I agree with stt007, this board was incredibly hostile for awhile there, especially towards the new people. Its not just because politics are such touchy issues, it just isn't in the theme of the board. If Islander wanted to add an off-topic message board to go with the current ones, that would be the place for it. Until then though, let's try to keep to the point. Sis Irijah, absolute kudos to you for doing the right thing and asking before leaping in.
