At 12:03 we had a 3.9 earthquake -- I heard it coming a second or two before a good shaking at my house on Crown Mt. -- anyone else??

Missed that one. Since the beginning of March, I have rec'd around 56 USGS alerts for earthquakes for VI, PR, Dominican Republic and surrounding areas. Most of the time you can't hear them. The sound you do hear before you feel them is the plates grinding under the earth as they travel forward, I believe. Sound first, earthquake following. Fingers crossed for continued small ones.

I had to turn off those alerts on my phone--now they only email me if it is 6.0 or above. I was getting bombarded with messages about every little quake. Really I just want to know if it is large enough to generate a tsumani...

A close to epicenter 4.0 can do damage. I get e-mail alerts not phone so no problem.
It's interesting to see the clusters, the amounts, daily and monthly and the vicinity so I do not mind the alerts.
Anything 6.0 or above we may not be able to get alerts.

Seriously? I missed this one too? Sheese. I guess Ill sign up for the alerts... does it alert as its coming or after it happens?
