pumpkins anyone?
Just feeling a little homesick for fall and was wondering if anyone around here sells pumpkins for halloween?? Also, any costume constests? (stx) Thanks!
Although I'm on STT, you shouldn't have any problem finding pumpkins on STX - most of the bigger supermarkets carry them for Halloween.
As far as costume parties are concerned, I'm sure there are plenty of bars on STX (as there are on STT) which host Halloween parties. Check the local newspapers - have fun!
Could anyone give me a heads up on some place on STT that I could find good carving pumpkins? The people in my office gave me some general locations that MIGHT have pumpkins, but they weren't exactly sure. Thanks
Not sure about where to buy pumpkins-haven't seen any. Someone in my office thought maybe gallows bay hardware-they have a garden section.
As far as events go, below is one of the big parties on the island-with a costume contest:
Oct. 12, 2005 - Virgin Islands Community Aids Resource and Education, Inc. is hosting its Annual Halloween Fundraiser and Costume Party on Saturday, Oct. 29, at The Cormorant Beach Club and Hotel, starting at 8 p.m. There will be prizes for costumes, raffles, music and hors d'oeuvres. It is $20 in advance and $25 at the door. All proceeds will benefit local HIV/AIDS services, according to the press release from VICARE.
For more information, call 692-9111.
Oh and I will be at the party Saturday so hope to see you there!!
There's also a pumpkin carving contest on the boardwalk Friday night at the brewPub. Pick up the Avis - I've seen lots of costume parties, etc advertised in there.
Hi,
Check cost-u-less. I saw some last week in the produce section, but the box was half-full, so they may have sold out. Have fun!
