Private flight out
We're looking to fly three english bulldogs from STX to Florida the end of May through beginning of June. We have to fly them on a private jet since commercial airlines wont fly them due to a high mortality rate. We'd love to partner with someone else flying up in that time frame to help spread the cost.
Also ping me. We're coming in at that time.
The aircraft *may* be available for the return trip(6/1)
If anyone is considering doing this next year around the same time, let me know. Have 3 dogs to get to around Orlando or Tampa.
The.
HEY!! I have two friends that might go in with you! Would be mid June thou from STT but maybe that would work? They have a island mutt but are finding it too late in the season to fly her cargo.
Have you contacted Air Propel by any chance? We are flying two greyhounds and a pitty mix to Florida the first week of June and we have three groups sharing the plane. There is room for a fourth. Please contact Jackson at mail@airpropelcharters.com so we can all get a cheaper flight together!
thanks for the Air Propel lead. I've contacted Jackson and will hopefully pull something together.
Interested in feedback. Please post experiences. Thanks!
So here's the skinny; most flights start at $15k to $18k depending on the plane, with some going into to the mid $20's and $30's. The one we can in on, a Lear 35, four years ago was just under $14k and about half a step above a crop duster with wire crates full of chickens to use for seats.
Thanks to a poster on this bb who was flying in, we had lined up an open leg from STX to fla for a reduced rate. Not much of a reduced rate but somewhat reduced and something is better than nothing. We had asked all of the brokers if there was any ride sharing and they all said no, especially when there's pets involved. Since we're doing this out of need and not comfort, ride sharing made sense to us.
Someone mentioned Propel air who lines up several groups to share the ride. If you're a little flexible in your flying dates and choice of travel companions, this can work out great and it did for us. We ended flying within out ultimate window and for 1/3 the price we would have otherwise paid. Now we just have to see if we're going to be sitting on those same chickens on the way back north. I'd recommend contacting them way in advance. We only got on because one of the scheduled parties fell through at the last minute.
Thanks for the info.
I'll be in that position next year with getting 3 dogs to FL.
