Hi,
I called PriceSmart headquarters in San Diego today to recommend that they carry a particular product (some type of non-caffeinated diet soda -- brand not important). I spoke to a very nice lady, Susan, who will be passing my request directly to the VP of Food Sales. She seemed very nice and very receptive to suggestions, and told me that they like to have feedback from members.
This got me thinking that maybe we should start a PriceSmart wish list.
If anyone else has any other suggestions for products, I would be happy to pass it onto my contact at the San Diego office and/or direct her to this message board. I don't know if they will purchase any products based on our recommendations, but it doesn't hurt to try -- right?
Does anyone else have any suggestions for products they would like to see at PriceSmart?

I wish they'd carry the scent-free detergents like Tide Free or any brand like that for people with sensitive skin.
And in their meat department, chuck ROASTS. I don't know why it's so hard to find the roasts. They sell chuck steaks all the time. I guess most is ground up for hamburger. Also, beef brisket but not the packages of corned beef. Just regular briskets.
Pepperidge Farm frozen products.
Muir Glen Fire-Roasted canned tomatoes. Those can be found down here sometimes but they're expensive when you do.
Maybe they've carried this stuff in the past but not when I've been there. I'm sure I have more so I'll be back when I think on it some.

I am very impressed by this!!!
When I called San Diego yesterday I left PriceSmart's tire buyer a message regarding a particular type of tire I wanted that PriceSmart does not stock, but in a brand that they carry. I also mentioned in my voicemail that the tire I was requesting had been very highly rated by Tirerack.com.
Guess what???? I just got a call back from the buyer, not only will he be getting my tires for me, he ALSO plans to order 24 extras for their next stock order. He just sent me a confirming email and told me that he will personally email me when the tires arrive in St. Thomas, which should be in approximately 3 weeks.
IMHO that is EXCELLENT service -- especially for a warehouse type store!!!!
I haven't made any additional requests yet regarding food items because I thought I would wait a few more days to see if anyone else wanted to add to the list, but obviously they DO take requests seriously!

I'm impressed! I figured they actually bought a lot of overstock merchandise which would have explained why they'll carry something & then not have it any more (after you get hooked on it.) Maybe that's not the case.
Been too busy to think of more items but I will!

Hi all. How about some Stouffer's frozen items? Family-size lasagna, macaroni & cheese, etc. (not the wimpy dinner entrees). I was a Costco addict on the mainland...

BTW Mell, I just read what you had been looking for--noncaffeinated diet drink.
I will probably kick myself for posting this before I have a chance to go buy 5 cases, but Cost u Less carries Diet Hansen's Soda. Super yummy.

Hi Onika,
I love Diet Hansen's too!!! I used to live only 5 minutes from a Trader Joe's in the states and bought it there all the time. I was absolutely delighted (and somewhat surprised) to find it here!!!
I think Hansen's has already been discovered because it seems to fly off the shelves at Cost U Less very quickly. However, I have noticed that they do manage to keep it in stock most of the time nowadays. So don't worry, we will save you a few cases!
