I've been diving and snorkeling around a dozen of these. Some are nothing more than a SMALL outcropping less than 100feet long. Inner brass has a house on it - not lived in really. I think Mingo does too? One on this list is my favorite dive spot and another is where I play and ride on nurse Sharks.... But I'm but saying which 😉
Protestant Cay
Lovango Cay
Little Saint James Island
Hassel Island
Great Saint James Island
Off the top of my head, Little St James, Hassel, Lovango.
Thanks for the list. I am looking at those islands one at a time. I figured it would be interesting to spend some time on one of them. However, it looks like quite a few of them are privately owned.
Hmm, accommodation on Great Saint James Island is $22,400 per week.
Lovango Cay seems like a bargain by comparison, $4,200 per week.
Little St James Island: privately owned, no public accommodations?
Hassel Island: privately owned, no public accommodations?
Water Island has rentals.
I imagine you can stay as long as you like on Protestant Cay until the money runs out.:-)
Hassell Island is 95% National Park, part of the Virgin Islands National Park. The other 5% has a couple private homes. More info at http://www.hasselisland.org/.
The large majority of the islands and cays you listed are protected either by the Territorial Government as Wildlife Sanctuaries; or by the Federal Government as part of National Park system.
These are Private... or unknown:

Thanks, Islander, that's a helpful document.
Little St James, I think you need to be a Clinton or a prince to visit.... LOL

Can you explain that, please? I looked up at what's available on Protestant Cay, and it came back with Hotel on the Cay, which is described as "moderate" in pricing.
east ender,
would you qualify if you had almost as much money as a prince and less morals than a clinton?

Yup, that's it. Stay for quite a while with a reasonable wallet.
re: LSJ... or a little girl in 7th grade, which I don't believe Wanderer is.

Very interesting that, according to this article, it's located off Puerto Rico. It must have drifted as islands tend to do as when I was there many years ago when under previous ownership, I could swear it was off St Thomas.

The location of a place is typically identified by proximity to well known geographical locations. Most people don't have the slightest clue where St Thomas is.

Thanks for educating me.
You know, OT, next time I am in VI, you and I should have a pillow fight.
Little St. James...I wonder what footage one could capture with a drone?
