Political and media words
I am sick of hearing the word transparency. Transparency and government do not mix in any way. To say the word transparency and government in the same sentence is laughable at best.
Disingenuous was the word that drove me crazy before transparency.
It seems a politician says a word and the media hops all over it. The next thing you know they are using the word in commercials to sell products at Kmart.
What happened to real reporters an unbiased media.
...and what about the phrase "due diligence"? I'm so over hearing that term too...
You are right to question the transparency of our government as it seems that term has no real definition in the VI. There is no transparency unless one gets caught. There are no preventative actions, only reactions.
Just wait until we have to 're-distribute our wealth to those less fortunate'
In the Sunday Magazine of the New York Times there is a column by W. Safire that often discusses the way words evolve into our political and media vocabulary. It is always interesting and worth a look.

"An assault weapon ban is a slippery slope, next they will take away our freedom of speech". For some reason Republicans are the only ones I have heard use this term...
"For some reason Republicans are the only ones I have heard use this term..".
As far as most issues such as the gun control, that's probably true, the Democrats and socialists are the ones hosing down the slopes.
