Those motion sensing game cameras are getting cheaper everyday.
Might be of use in identifing the culprit and aid in prosecution.

However, if what Mark825 posted is true, you wonder why the cops don't conduct a little sting operation if they know so much already.

I think the comment from the police officer about cookies is what's going to make it possible to look back on this one day and laugh... 😛

Combining the " Rodents/car wiring???" thread with this one, I have to wonder: If, in order to combat a rat problem, I leave food laced with rat poison on my car seat when I'm not there, and lock the doors to prevent small children from accidentally ingesting the toxic food, am I liable if someone breaks into my vehicle, eats the tainted food, and dies?

This is too funny because it reminds me of what I did way back in highschool. I went to high school on the outskirts of DC in a pretty rough area. Every day a kid used to steal my lunch. I got sick of it so I put some poison in the sandwich. The kid got violently ill and had to go to the hospital. I got in trouble with the principal but at the end of the conversation was told "never to do something like that again" with kind of a wink. IOW they had to slap my wrists but were glad I outed the person who was stealing. I was glad I didn't get sued, although it would've been an interesting case, I have every right to put poison in MY sandwich and throw it away if I want to, but I'm not sure if the courts would've seen it htat way.

FWIW the kid apologized to me in the end and I think it set him straight, I think he realized how risky stealing stuff could be and I hope that I taught him a lesson that he hasn't forgotten.

what the gun haters want to do is to take everyone's guns away, soon most of the killings by predators will be done with knives and people will begin to protect themselves with knives, then they will come in and take everyone's knives away. soon all killings will be done by hand, then they'll just pack everybody up in train cars and send them to concentration camps to be burned alive.

Yes, that is exactly what will happen. If we take away peoples' guns, everyone gets sent to a concentration camp.
