Worth a look. one of the few two plus bedrroms I've seen. And sounds like they are willing to do short term if available.

Thanks for the PM from STT Pepper.
We are looking for a condo or apt. Something that will give us the feel of what life will be like living there. Not the resorts where my kids will think they get the good life every day. We will be visiting hospitals. schools, grocery, etc. July 25-31 on STT and Aug. 1-8 on STX. Dates are flexible. It is for myself, my husband, 13yo daughter, 20yo son (maybe).
Yes we will be renting cars on both islands so that we can explore end to end.
Does this help?
We are also doing it on as low a budget as possible due to needing the money for the big move! LOL
Thanks to anyone who has great ideas.

Check Craig's List, www.vrbo.com or www.flipkey.com for rentals.
It's still considered high season but you may be able to negotiate something.

I have a short term rental but it only sleeps 2 as only a 1X1.
Good luck.

I'd hit Bild up with the condo in Sapphire. Great beach and good location. I take tours there for snorkeling sometimes - just don't damage the elkhorns!! 🙂 it's like 8 min to TuTu mall area with Kmart, OfficeMax, banks, Walgreens (soon) etc. PM when time gets closer, I'd meet up with ya @ Sapphire and chat.

We stayed at Megan's point resort when we moved here for our forst week. It's a 2 star but we liked it enough. Was reasonable but don't know if we had a special deal or not. $400 for 7 days for a studio.

Ps. By the way Off the Grid BBQ Truck is at the entrance of sapphire 4 days a week and has the BEST BBQ I've had since I lived in TX. Take my tours there sometimes and it's ALWAYS a hit. Soooo good and Greg is super nice dude!

I don't think you will find 'high season' pricing in late July and Aug.

Try this web site.

www.CondoDelMar.com

They offer several units at Sapphire Village on the east end of STT. And July / Aug is off season so you should be able to get a reasonable deal.

SV would be good since many units are owned and occupied by fulltime residents.

If you consider either Sapphire Village or anything in the adjacent Sapphire complex (Sapphire Resort and Marina, Crystal Cove) I'd suggest that rather than going through a rental/property management company you go directly through an owner through http://www.vrbo.com. You can see exactly the unit advertised, talk with owners directly and (particularly during July and August which is slow season) can probably strike a very good deal. Of course the only dilemma you would face at somewhere right on a beautiful beach is remembering the purpose of your visit and dragging yourself away from the lure of the sand and the sea!

true! Sapphire is beautiful! Stay away from the far left past the boulders. Got a zillion sand flea bites over there. DAMN those buggers itch!

FYI. CondoDelMar is not a property management service, but only is a reservations service for independent private owners. But one can view several units on the one site, with reservations schedule. If one wants to, then you can be directed to a units owner and negotiate terms.

I know exactly who they are and what they do. My advice remains the same but thanks for the FYI.
