I will be in St Thomas May 10th – 18th and I’m looking for a place to stay. I will be traveling alone, wife and kids will accompany me next trip so I don’t need much. Maybe a studio or 1 bedroom not too far off the beaten path.
While I am there I would also like to spend some time looking at homes. If someone can recommend a reputable realtor it would be appreciated as well.

Hi Karie,
We have been working with a very nice real estate agent at Stout Realty http://www.stoutrealty.com/. Her name is Joy Stanley. Joy is hard-working and exceedingly pleasant. She loves living here and seems to know the island well (which isn't always the case, more than once we have had to drive real estate agents to properties ourselves). Joy is also very good about promptly returning phone calls and emails.
If you are interested in staying near Red Hook, I know of a nice vacation rental, Ocean Kaleidoscope Villa http://www.okvillavi.com/. The owners, Gail and Curlson, are great and the villa is clean, spacious and nicely appointed.
We have also stayed at the Green Iguana http://www.thegreeniguana.com/ in Charlotte Amalie. The accommodations are basic, but pleasant. The manager Mike is very helpful and friendly.

Thank you for the information. I'll send Joy some e-mail and see if we can't look at some homes while I'm there. I'll be sure to tell her you sent me. Also, thanks for the links to the accommodations.
