Anyone can give me an idea what this condominium property looks like? Is it a dump? Bad area? Its in Estate Contant near Smith Bay. I cannot find any pics on the net. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I saw an affordably priced condo and just wonder if its too good to be true.

Thanks,
Marcus

I finally located some pics of the condo and I was pleasantly surprised by the appearance of the interior. And the view across the island to the water was absolutely beautiful. I still dont know about the area though. Any info about this particular area would be very helpful.

Marcus - I've never heard of it. Can you give some better directions as to the area? Where by Contant?

Smith Bay is on the opposite side of the island from Plantation Manor. I recommend that you see the place in person and find out about the condo association. All associations are not created equal. Also, recommend that you live on St Thomas at least 6 months, if not a year, before you consider buying.

A friend of mine is the property manager at Plantation Manor and I have worked there off and on over the last year. It is run well. A budget type place. Grounds are kept up well. Has a swimming pool. Over the last year there have been a few break ins of condos but they work hard to keep it safe. The area is okay. Depends a lot on where you want to live on the island. If you work downtown it is not a long drive but if you work on the east end it's a long drive.

Thanks for the information folks. I feel really optimistic about my ability to own a home in USVI now. The place looks and sounds decent and I think it gives me a good benchmark to measure affordability of ownership.
Thanks again for all of your input.
