First, if you can move without the pets and bring them once you’ve found housing, that will work best for all concerned, for multiple reasons.

It is very rare to find pet-friendly short-term housing. Your best bet is to ask your employer for any leads. If they can’t help, then the next best bet is to bring lots of money. There are no inexpensive solutions for what you are trying to do. Check AirBnB for last-minute deals and maybe try and negotiate a multi-week rate if you can find anything open.

You are coming at the beginning of our busy season, and housing is still in short supply due to time of year, hurricane recovery, and the fact that for several years now, more people want to live here for season than there is room available. Expect high prices and very limited choice. You could get lucky and arrive right as a rental property comes available post-repair, but I guarantee anything you hear about will rent extremely quickly.

Thanks for the response. I plan on going down myself on December 4th and try to secure something a bit more long term before we bring the pets.

Im going to keep at it and I'll update how our progress goes!
