Pet Stores STX
Bailey has arrived on island and during his first trip to the ocean we broke his leash - oops! Any recommendations for where to buy pet supplies and pet food on STX? We got one small bag at KMart and I bought him a new bowl (one didn't make it through the USPS) at Superior. Didn't know if anyone recommended anywhere else for pet supplies.
Thanks 🙂
ye old feed shoppe off of the highway has high end food,(eukanuba and sciencs diet)
and accessories and tends to be a few bucks cheaper all around when compared to the place in princess next to oscars (superior pets?)
Superior Pet in Princess has leashes and great quality dog food, like Wellness 🙂 and Chicken Soup. They also have lots of other supplies. Also Island Animal Clinic has leashes and prescription type food it you need it.
Superior has a great selection but they are very high. Good for short term emergencies. I was shocked on the mark up on their pet accessories and this is well before gas went up. $95 for a 3 gallon water feeder thats about $20 stateside. I buy all toys/accessories stateside or ship it down. Both vets sell the high end food. I buy dog food at cost u less.
Has anyone found a great on-line pet store that ships here? And, truly, where is the least expensive place to buy pet food? We adopted a cat from the shelter this past week, so we're feeding our dog, our cat, and 3+ outdoor cats. I feed the better food to my dog and cat, but I have been purchasing "generic" food for the outdoor cats, but it's still quite expensive.
Petsmart does. They use USPS but I don't know how or if it would be cheaper for pet food but check it out in case you wanted other stuff.

Oh, and for leashes, etc. check out Ebay.
I'm glad to hear that PetSmart ships to STX.
What about pet sitting? I travel with my dog whenever possible, but I know there will be times when I can't. She's not the type who can just be left at home with a neighbor to pop in and feed her... she needs lots of attention and activity. It took me a while to find a person I trust who doesn't charge an arm and a leg here in the states. I'm not close enough to moving to need specifics yet, but it would be reassuring to know that such services are available. The setup I have right now is a friend of a friend who owns two dogs of the same breed as mine and makes a little business out of boarding 2-3 at a time for $10-20 per night, per dog.
