Family of four in need of resonably priced ($1000-$1500/month) long-term housing that is PET FRIENDLY. 2 bed, 2 bath prefered. We have 2 cats, both 10yrs old, house trained and one medium (30lbs) dog. Need fenced area if at all possible so dog can stay out.
Are there leash laws in STX for dogs?
Anyone with info on a safe place for newbies to be please send email directly to jkubats@comcast.net. Subject line: STX Housing.

Thanks in advance. Keep posting, I love reading everyone's experiences.

Yes there are leash laws. But there are also many stray wild animals, a fence is best for your pets here. You really have to be here to find a rental. Give yourself a week or two to find one. Don't rent anything without seeing. There are no all good or all bad areas like stateside, so you need to see that for yourself. And there are definitely scammers out there as well. Majority of the rentals are in the local paper the avis and it's not online.

Seconding Hiya's advice not to rent in advance, especially because $1000-$1500 per month is going to include a lot of suspect properties in suspect areas.
