Pet cargo info

Hello Everyone,

I am relaying this info in case anyone is not aware (I wasn't and am learning)

Amerijet International - Ms Colon at ext 4128 is actually informative over the phone.  Currently:

from San Juan to Miami, drop off time is 3 pm, flight leaves at 8 and pick up at destination is at 11 pm

from San Juan to EWR, drop of time is 9 pm, flight leaves at 5 am and pick up is at 9 am

if you are flying at the same time as your dog, which I am doing, you can ask the warehouse attendant if you can spend time with your dog. you can spend this time in a car or outside the warehouse as you will not be allowed in the ware house. The warehouse is not AC'd but am told it is ventilated.

Amerijet flies pet all year round and there is no temperature restriction.  Also, there is no one in the plane attending to the pets. 2 humans only - the pilots. The pets are NOT insured. There is a restriction on the number of pets.

American Cargo- every time I email it's a different person with a different answer. You have to give a date of travel for them to find out if there is a flight available that takes pets. The temperature restriction, I was told, is not for inside the plane. It is for the tarmac. Which tells me that the pets are not transported in an AC van.
