Peace and a Picnic
All Ah We presents, “Peace and a Picnic”
St. Croix to celebrate the International Day of Peace, September 20th
Since 1982, The United Nation’s International Day of Peace has been observed in many corners of the world. On Sunday, September 20th, Crucians will add their unique energy to this global celebration. The St. Croix community is invited to gather at Veteran’s Park on the Frederiksted waterfront from 3-6 PM for an afternoon of lively music, poetry, and cultural dance. Performers will include The Xpress Band, Eddie Russell, Doc Peterson, Bill Bass, Unit Band, Winnie “Oyoko” Loving, Junie Bomba and more. Picnic baskets are encouraged.
In keeping with the global sentiment to affirm Peace, and to continue the intention of the Human Peace Chain, All Ah We is reaching out to individuals from every part of the Big Island: community service and youth organizations, churches, temples, houses of worship, musicians and dancers, to come together as a community of lovers of peace. Rather than taking a stance against something, everyone is encouraged to stand for something – PEACE.
The program will start with the traditional conch shell salutation and ConcertWorks will be on hand to insure everyone hears every note of music and word of poetry.
Please come out to enjoy a TV-IPOD-Twitter-free Sunday afternoon with your family and friends.
For more information please call Heike Nilgen, 340-514-2196 or Carol and Peter Stewart, 340-719-7564.
The yoga community will also be there with a Global Mala
