Paper Ballots - another leap forward (not)
In today's Avis: BOE Adopts Paper Ballot Policy
..."The word is out that machines are not up to par" (member BOE)
This just continues to prove that the VI Government is where ignorance, incompetence, and corruption collide. The wasted expense and additional manpower required for this process is outrageous. This also opens up new avenues for voter fraud. Maybe we can request UN observers?
Also in a move to discourage STX east enders from voting, they dropped Pearl B from the list of polling sites - probably think that if they are really determined all them rich folks on the east end can drive thier fancy cars to some other place.
In related news WAPA announced that their solution to the energy crisis is to stop producing power and become a supplier of paraffin oil. "Dem lamps work real good and are cheap too cause some people just don't understand that electric stuff". 😎

PLEASE don't give WAPA any ideas . . . .
If not Pearl B then where? that is just for the Primary elections, right?

Electronic voting was only introduced here a few years ago and has been fraught with problems exactly the same as those encountered throughout the mainland and where many jurisdictions are returning to paper ballots for precisely that reason. Not everything which doesn't work is unique to the USVI ...
Don't know about Pearl B, but they don't open all polls for the primary.

Apologies then for the scathing criticism of our government in action. Guess I was caught with my chad hanging out on this one. 😎
Personally I'd trust an audited electronic voting tabulation against physical paper ballots that are transported from polling stations to a location where they are counted.
PS. From the Avis article, the poling places noted as open on STX are: Charles H Emanuuel, Juanita Gardine, Alexander Henderson, and Ricardo Richards schools.
