Packed and Moving!!!
This is Teresa writing. Since Chris and I will both be on island soon we are thinking of having a joint name. Any ideas - Island Paul...?
Well, I have decided that packing and shipping is a horrible ordeal. If I had it to do over again, we would have rented a big dumpster and thrown everything away and started over in STT(Chris agrees). I was packing as the guys were loading the crate. We filled it to over flowing. I feel sorry for the customs guys. They may open the door and have everything fall out.
We filled another container and my mom's car of stuff to store and some stuff to give away. That was another filled to the brim ordeal.
Then we left the trash man about 30 cubic feet of trash. Finally we loaded yet another container to take to Chris's parents house to store.
When we get this stuff to STT you will see many things at the dumpsters since all this stuff will not fit in our apartment.
Chris and I are so wore out. We have many miles to go before we sleep. My suggestion to all who move - go find your most prized possesion and give it away. After that all other material goods don't seem to matter. I had to give away a lot of stuff that I thought I needed or wanted. I could have lived without it. Any charities on STT to give stuff to? Honestly, I feel the real sentimental value is having family with you - not stuff. Well, I am going to sleep a bit. I will write a much more uplifting message when I wake up. 😉

BTW - is there a beach on STT that kids really like? Where they can build big sand castles and such? I want to take the kids to the beach. They have only been to the beach once before in their lives and nothing like STT.
See you all soon!!!
Teresa and Chris
My dear friends - did you ever think of packing stuff in boxes and leaving it in a family garage or basement - until such time as MAYBE you might decide you couldn't live without it - and then have it shipped? But then, that would require a huge sorting which would, could be as complicated as just dumpstering stuff.
One name for both of you? Well, I suppose you could have a joint name and then if one of you felt strongly about something you see here, you could post as yourself!
Island Joint? no no no....T & C Islanders!
Secret Harbor would be a great queit beach, protected low to no surf for the kids, and since it's near me - I'd come and build castles with them........bring my bucket and shovel !!!!!
Soon come new friends, soon come. Safe travels.
Best beach for kids and building castles is Magen's Bay by far - sandy - no rocks, no seaweed- sand is great for building. Another is Coki.
Congratulations on almost being done! We are so excited for you... wait... what's that I'm feeling?! Jealousy!?!
Enjoy!
Coki can be crowded.
I'm a huge animal lover and while browsing the St Thomas Human Society website, I found they have a second hand store - people can donate goods to the store, which they sell to the public. The proceeds go to the shelter and taking care of the animals. Their website is: http://www.humanesocietyofstthomas.com/ - please consider them if you need to get rid of stuff.
Also - I ditto Meagens as a great kids beach.
Thanks Janelle! We will definitely be looking to donate. Good luck on your packing.
