our sailing adventure California - USVI
Hi Virgin Islanders,
my husband and I are relocating to the Virgin Islands and decided to make a journey out of it. We are sailing our 28 ft sailboat (Pearson Triton) from California through the Panama Canal to USVI.
If you are interested in following our adventures, check out our blog here

Hope to meet some of you when we get there!

Thank you for sharing your adventure, loved reading your blog. Which island will you be relocating to? I'm looking forward to reading your updates as you make your way here. Wishing you the best in your journey (tu)
have a safe journey
I wish you a safe landing!!!
I wish you fair winds and following seas - and will continue to check the blog as you sail along - the Canal transit will be a high point - I did it in a 49' sailboat and hope your Triton fares well - Enjoy the trip!!
LOVE IT!!! Love the pictures. Love the story.
My husband and I relocated our 65' sloop from Olympia, Washington to St. Croix in 2006. It was an amazing adventure. I'll enjoy following your blog and reliving those memories!
Happy Sailing 🙂
Happy trails and safe sailing.
Your harness will become your best friend.
Be sure to use it!
Hope your doggie has a good one, too.
Good Luck and all the best! (tu)

We are planning for St. Thomas, but we are also going to check out St. Croix.
There are a lot more places to keep your boat on STT.
Thanks ExitZero for the info.
Thanks everyone for reading our blog. We are excited to share our story with everyone interested, so keep checking!
Alright, we finally got it together and did a write up of our trip across the Sea of Cortez
Thanks to everyone for the support and messages, also we have found this message board to be an invaluable resource in planning our move and hope we can give back at least a little by sharing our experience.
We are looking forward to hearing your adventures.
Be safe.
We put up a post about our time in Mazatlan since we are getting ready to move on to La Cruz (puerto vallarta area). The boat is back in shape and we are just waiting for the weather to calm a bit.
You can read it here
Thanks again to everyone and we will try to keep you updated as we go.

Josie & Jerrad:
What an exciting adventure! Be safe and keep the postings coming.
Our friends Pat & Colleen did a circumnavigation several years ago and kept a great log book online. If you feel bored during your trip try reading their site at www.digwave.com/simmer/simmer/htm it has some great information and insight.
I kept in contact with them throughout their journey...it felt like I was there, too.

Hey islanders,
after having too much fun snorkeling, relaxing sailing, and spending time in Banderas bay with the whales, we have finally sat ourselves down to update our sailing website and you can read it here.
We also made a short video of a pod of spotted dolphins playfully swimming along the bow.
It has been an incredible experience so far, and thanks very much for all your warm gestures, support, feedback and comments.
Thank you for sharing your adventures!
Wow so cool! I'll be headed there from California too, but by air! Safe travels!

VT2VI,
I'm cold just thinking about Vermont. When are you planning to move?
Hey Islanders,
we thought we'd be out of Mexico by now but as I am learning, a long-term voyage on a sailboat never goes according to plan.
We are currently in our last stop in Mexico, and here are the latest updates from our journey:

Jerrad had to fly back to Los Angeles for a day to do an emergency passport renewal (an ordeal worthy enough to be our next blog post...), but we should be out of Mexico by the end of the week.
Next stop is El Salvador and Costa Rica.
Thanks for following us and for all your comments and feedback. We really appreciate it!

jwidjaja, it wont be for a few years. Have two older kids that need to finish high school and two younger ones that we want to be a few years older. That and the logistics of it all will take a while to get sorted.
