Our 20’ container just arrived on STT via Tropical and it’s $7900! I still have to pay to truck it over to stj.

It wasnt that heavy, but they did pick it up from our lot in Florida then trucked it down to the port then over to stt. I was thinking it would be around $5k. A bit of sticker shock. And we still have our second one going over next month. Anyone use someone different that cost less?

Actually my mistake it was $7300, but then I’ll have the trucking and crane fee also. Seems like a lot.

This sounds about right with inland trucking. Why didn’t you have it go all the way to St John?  Would have saved you some on trucking. It will cost around $1600 to get it from STT to STJ.  I’m not sure about off loading it from the chassis.  I use Rashad’s Trucking. If you have time to change the booking on the next one, have that one go through to St John Cruz Bay port.  May end up being close to the same price but trucking is usually around $400 -$600 (depending on location) from STJ Tropical to where you want it.

We are shipping a 40’ container from CT to STJ, with STT Cargo and Ship Service. The delivery from STT to STJ with a 2 hours (included free) unloading and it was $2400. The cost from CT to STT including inland trucking was around $11,100.00.

@jrk623 wow, big difference, thanks. I’m going to look into this for the second container.

The price difference between shipping a 20’ vs 40’ is not much.   We usually go with 40’s because the difference in price with Tropical is around $1200.

Another vote for using a 40 footer versus a 20 footer as long as you can get it transported to final destination, otherwise can just transfer contents to a box truck for delivery.  Way cheaper to send one 40 footer than two 20 footers.
