Oh Chefs catalog - whenever they run a free shipping promo (which is all the time) they ship here for free. Great way to get pots and pan and kitchen appliances and so on.

Just ordered some things from Macy's. They have some great deals on summer items right now. I also order from J and O Fabrics occasionally.

Adding Best Bully Sticks - can order dog treats (Yak Bones, Bully Sticks etc) for 1/2 off the price I can buy them on STJ

http://bestbullysticks.com/

I am making notes as people add to the list and will try to update the full list from time to time.

It would have probably been easier to ask, which one could you live without, the arm or the leg?:)

I confirm that kmart would not ship even for local store pickup. Amazon & Bestbuy are a sometimes. More info to come if I can find a computer printer cheaper shipped than bought locally.

I buy from Amazon all the time and never have an issue. Some products can't be shipped here so I ship them to Paradise Freight instead. Makes no difference to me.

I bought a printer from Walmart.com last winter, but they offered free shipping at the time, so it was a good deal. Not sure if they still do.

It is worth noting, if you go to the OfficeMax site online, the local store will honor those prices BUT you have to either buy ahead of time and choose in-store pickup OR wait about an hour in the store while they process an online order (on island time, apparently). The prices advertised online are often much lower than in the store on big-ticket items -- it pays to do your homework. The site is pretty good about telling you what's in stock locally, and so far I haven't had it lie to me.

I recently bought a printer from bestbuy.com and they did free USPS shipping (Priority Mail, I think) to USVI. They still offer free shipping on orders $25 and up. For items that bestbuy won't ship to USVI, avoid using a freight forwarder (Paradise Freight or VI Cargo) because bestbuy prohibits shipping to freight forwarders and they will cancel the order.

It's so interesting how companies' free shipping offers to here change all the time -- when I shopped BestBuy for a printer a year ago, they wanted to charge $50+ for shipping, despite their "free" offer being the same as what STXBob describes. Always worth checking again!

I do what someone else here recommended - go to a site, add anything to the shopping cart, and then start checking out to see what shipping costs are. It's crazy how they are all over the map.

I ordered a set of shipping containers from Amazon a couple of weeks ago and they got here very quickly. Went to order some more of them tonight and at checkout it said that they could not be shipped to this address.

The "help" button generated a pop up window with a long laundry list of types of items that it says they will not ship here.

I hope it's a blip, and not a new policy update.

I had a problem buying an item I needed on Amazon this weekend. It was from a private seller and said at checkout it could not ship to this address.

I contacted the seller, informing them that the US Virgin Islands uses the USPS, just like if you were shipping state to state and no customs paperwork needs to be filled out.

The seller contacted me promptly and told me they entered "US Protectorates" into their system and for me to try to checkout again. The order went through with no problem.

The seller even contacted me to make sure I was buying the correct model I needed before shipping it to me, so I wouldn't need to return it.

We had a very cordial and informative correspondence between us and it looks like I educated a seller about shipping to the USVI via the USPS.

I look forward to receiving the item.

Please note that Sierra Trading post can't sell some items to us because they are restricted by their vendors from selling out side of the US.

Wonder if the change happened at the same time that Amazon upped the amount you need to spend to get free shipping to $35

The item I had shipped from Amazon was a 10 piece storage container set made by OXO. I tried to order some of the 4 quart size ones later, that's when I ran into the "can't ship here" issue.

Just for curiosity sake I put another 10 piece set into my cart, went to checkout, and it will ship - to the same address that the indiduual ones (same manufacturer, same seller) won't!

Email them to see what the problem is about the shipping.
Maybe it's a glitch in the system like it was with my above situation.

I was trying to shop at Bealls today, & I sent an email because the shipping policies on the website weren't too clear. How long ago was your last shopping there, Juanita?

Has anyone had a merchant ship through some company called "Eshopworld"? The merchant said they have to ship through them because we are "international" and so far I've ordered two packages that have failed to show up. The first was ordered 12/19. After they decided that had been lost because they couldn't find any tracking info, the resent it on 12/30. So far neither have shown up.
